Vinita Chen
Vinita Chen is a Dance of Asian America Soloist. Vinita graduated from Mitsi Dancing School in 2011 with top honors in Classical Ballet, Chinese Classical and Folk Dances, Modern, and Jazz technique. In the 2010 USA Dance Showcase, she received 1st Place Elite Platinum Award and 1st Place Best Overall for her duet “Jasmines in Bloom.” She also was awarded 1st Place Platinum Award and 2nd Place Best Overall for her duet “Dance of Guardian Spirits.”
Sylvia Ngo
Dance of Asian America Soloist
Originally from Los Angeles, Sylvia Ngo studied Chinese classical and ethnic minority dances under Shin Yue Wang and the Shin Dance Academy for over 12 years. Sylvia continued her love of the arts in college and performed and showcased choreography with USC’s Repertory Dance Company and USC’s Traditional Chinese Dance Company. When she moved to Houston in 2007, Sylvia knew she would find home in Dance of Asian America. When she is not dancing, Sylvia is a labor and employment attorney. Sylvia gives special thanks to her husband, Jeff McPhaul!
Jessica Chan
Dance of Asian America Soloist
Jessica graduated from Mitsi Dancing School with top honors in Classical Ballet, Chinese Classical and Folk Dances, Modern, and Jazz technique. She graduated with a degree from University of Texas in Physical Therapy with specialty in sports and dance therapy. Her performances have been well received at Dance Houston City-wide Festivals, Houston Symphony’s Very Merry Pops, East Meets West, Splendid China and many more.
